"The Concept Carification Effect"
Kathy Sierra has a great post about the way great concepts get watered down during the product development process. It's true that practical realities necessarily affect the viability of a product, and whether product requirements are possible to implement. Yet sometimes it's a lack of creativity and determination that cause great concept products to fail.
