- Select a person based on talent, not so much for experience, intelligence, and determination.
- Set expectations by defining the right outcomes, not by defining the right steps.
- Motivate the person by focusing on strengths, not by helping to overcome weaknesses.
- Develop the person by helping him find the right fit, not by helping him get promoted.
