Monsieur Godin writes in his inimitable way about focus and why so many companies resist it:
"I asked, 'Are there any writers in your field who you hate because they get paid way too much compared to your perception of the effort they put in and the talent they have?'Focus often means embracing hatred of your product. If you're not turning someone off with the way you positition your product, you're probably not focusing sufficiently.
'Sure,' he said, feeling a little sheepish about being annoyed by their success.
'And how do they get those gigs?'"
