Sociology

My major in college was philosophy. Ever since I was a kid, I've studied, argued, and thought about philosophical issues. I still find philosophy interesting, but most of my opinions about philosophical issues have solidified, so I don't spend as much time on it.

My interest has shifted to sociology. According to Wikipedia:
Sociology is the study of the social lives of humans, groups, and societies, sometimes defined as the study of social interactions. It is a relatively new academic discipline that evolved in the early 19th century. It concerns itself with the social rules and processes that bind and separate people not only as individuals, but as members of associations, groups, and institutions.
Philosophical ideas are important, but social interactions largely determine happiness and can be extremely powerful forces for change. People with a high emotional intelligence quotient (EQ) have natural instincts and intuitions about sociology. Analytical types, such as I, have to study it to understand basic realities about human relations.

The Story When Apple unveiled its iPod digital music player back in October 2001, I dismissed it as a  parity product .
